Jesus’ Church was to be a church of Power

~ A Church of miracles

~ A Church of super­natural manifestations

~ A Church that changed the world.

We know this by looking at the beginnings of the Church in the book of Acts.

Over the years, thousands and thousands of churches have developed. We have denomi­nations, associ­ations, networks, indepen­dents, charismatics and fundamen­talists. Churches have become larger, more comfortable, more prosperous, more glamorous, able to reach more and more people. But everywhere we go, we are hearing believers expressing their hunger for something more. We are hearing of believers who still love God but are no longer willing to sit in dry, powerless church services.

We hear of churches that are concerned about having a good time ~ churches that are so filled with concern about paying for their staffs and their buildings that there is no money left for missions ~ churches that are so filled with programs and schedules that there is no room for the spontaneous moves of the Holy Spirit.

We need churches filled with believers of passion ~ believers who are not thinking of themselves, of their needs, of their desires, but about people going to hell who have never heard about Jesus ~ We need believers who are hearing from God and are willing even to die for the sake of reaching a lost and dying world. Believers who are getting prepared to step out into miracle evangelism.

Over the centuries, Jesus’ plan seems to have been lost.

Jesus said:

“On this Rock I will build my church and the gates (the governments) of hell will not prevail against it.”

Jesus said:

“I give you the keys of the kingdom!”

Jesus said:

“Whatever you bind on earth is bound in heaven.”

Jesus said:

“The works that I do will you do also, and greater works.”

And Jesus said:

“Wait until you have received the power of the Holy Spirit.”

When believers begin to do the works of Jesus

~ when believers begin to see miracles happening through their own hands

~ when believers begin to reach out to the hurting world all around them

~ they are changed.

Miracles in Ireland

Fires of miracle evangelism were lit during our recent trip to Ireland. In addition to doing the launch of a new church, Joyce and I were privileged to do a week of Healing Explosion meetings. We spent the first four meetings training the believers how to minister healing to the sick and qualifying those who would be on the healing teams to minister to those who needed healing in their bodies during the following three exciting nights of the Healing Explosion meetings.

We wish you could have seen the excitement in the eyes of the believers as they began to experience miracles happening through their own hands and experienced the power of God flowing into their bodies through the hands of other newly trained believers.

As God confirmed His Word with healing signs and miracles each night, many came to the front to receive Jesus as their Savior. After leading these in a prayer of salvation, I would say, “Now God has another gift for you. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Each night the front of the hotel ballroom was packed as many others joined these brand new believers in receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking freely in new tongues.

Many others came to receive more freedom in their heavenly language or to receive a refilling of the Holy Spirit that included a Spirit of boldness to be a witness for Jesus Christ.

Doing the Works of Jesus

At the end of the meeting each night, the newly trained healing teams took their place all across the front of the auditorium. Many of those who had sickness, disease or pain in their bodies begin to pour forward with eager anticipation to receive their miracle from God. We wish you could have seen the boldness in the eyes of these healing team members as they asked each one: “What are you believing to receive from God right now?”

No matter how severe the problem, they boldly proclaimed: “That’s easy with God!” As they began to lay hands on the sick, the power of God fell. The excitement was overwhelming as people came to testify of the manifestation of healing they had just received in their bodies.

Many who had been in severe pain for many years were excitedly testifying that the pain and other symptoms were gone after the healing teams had ministered to them.

These newly trained believers were like Peter, stepping out of the boat to walk on the supernatural waters with signs, wonders and healing miracles happening through their hands. Fires of personal miracle evangelism had been lit that are continuing to sweep across the nation of Ireland.

Joyce and I give all the glory to Jesus for these and many other reports.

How thrilling it is for us to have a part in “equipping the saints for the work of the ministry” as we keep going to the nations.

Report from Ireland

First Salvation and Then the Holy Spirit

Pastor Clifford and Ruth Taylor who set up these meetings in Newry, Ireland, sent us the following message upon our return.

“We are still living in the glow of the great time we had together. We thank you so much for coming to Ireland to kindle the fire which is already spreading.

Our nation has been invaded many times throughout history. Now there is a new invasion – The Lord is coming with His jealous love to win the hearts of the people. There have been many reconnaissance trips, but now a beach-head has been established. Hallelujah!

Only heaven will reveal all that you have done for the extension of the Kingdom. We were constantly amazed at your energy and strength as you ministered. Your confidence in the Lord has increased faith in many and encouraged us more than ever to press into all that the Lord intends for His people.

There is much buzz and enthusiasm as we reflect on what the Lord has done through you. People have just loved you and your ministry.”

Report from Venezuela

Our dear friend, Jack Tuls of Remote Area Ministries, recently returned from a mission trip to Venezuela with an exciting report. Jack and his wife, Grace, have been traveling to strategic areas in many nations for many years establishing Bible schools using our teaching manuals that are now available in many languages. As God was speaking to Jack about going to Venezuela, he began to look at a map of that nation when God supernaturally drew his attention to Puerto Ayacucho on the Orinoco River.

When he arrived there last month, again God supernaturally con­nected him to some key pastors, one of which is over all 60 Pentecostal churches in Amazonas State. This pastor called his pastor friend in Barinas State and told him he had better get down to Puerto Ayacucho right away because there were two men who had the answer to his vision.

This pastor traveled for four days by bus, boat and car to reach Puerto Ayacucho to meet Jack and the interpreter who was traveling with him. This pastor who is over 64 churches had a dream from God

in 1999 in which the Lord asked him to train 1200 people in the things of the Kingdom of God. Since he didn’t know how to do this and had no material, he had been waiting for some help.

When he saw our manuals in the Spanish language, he said this was the answer to his dream. As a result of these and other contacts, 85 Bible Schools have begun, and by the end of this year, this pastor who had the dream has committed to start at least another 200 Bible Schools using our manuals.

The Multiplication Continues

This past month we have received two new foreign language editions of our manuals, and they are available on our website for free download and duplication.

In addition, we are continuing to do video recording of our teachings in the bilingual format as part of the International School of Ministry. This month we are producing teachings from our course on Prayer, Bringing Heaven to Earth.
